On 11 May 2026 at 9:30 a.m., the PACC, led by Mr. Bhumivisan Kasemsook, Secretary-General of the PACC, together with Pol.Lt.Col. Siripong Sritula, Deputy Secretary-General of the PACC, Mr. Supap Siri, Director of the Corruption Suppression in Public Sector Division 1, and PACC officials, joined officials from the Department of Provincial Administration in visiting the Bang Khae District Office to examine the matter. The investigation followed the circulation on social media of an image of a Thai national identification card belonging to a man identified as “Mr. Cheng Zhao Wu,” whose registered address is located in Bang Khae District, Bangkok. Questions had also been raised online regarding how a Chinese national could possess a Thai national identification card. Mr. Thianchai Wongsuwan, Director of Bang Khae District, along with registration officials, provided relevant information to the authorities.

Preliminary findings revealed that Mr. Cheng Zhao Wu is listed in the household registration records in Bang Khae District and obtained Thai nationality through nationality verification based on his father’s nationality. However, further examination may be required to determine whether his father had lawfully acquired Thai nationality. It was also reported that the family consists of five siblings.

The PACC will continue its investigation in order to establish clear and conclusive facts. The agency reaffirmed that, should any government official or individual be found involved in unlawful conduct, legal action will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law in order to uphold transparency and maintain public confidence.
